Planning on having someone look after your home during your deployment overseas or prohibited posting?
Your insurance provider will expect you to have someone look after your home during your absence. Some of them may even deny insurance claims for the period if a commercial company did not care for your home.
Paragraph 3.1 of the DCBA Aide Memoire is specific that the service provider be a “Commercial Firm”.

We will provide such services as weekly physical checks to confirm security, lawn maintenance, snow removal of sidewalks and pathways, and other services agreed to in writing prior to your departure. For the duration of your tour, we will update you on a regular basis, via e-mail, as to the status of upkeep of your home.
